This mounting rack with magnetic plate is compatible with 2015+ Ford F-150 aluminum body pickup trucks and offers operators a convenient mounting location for magnetic lights up to 10 lbs. These mounts will allow you to mount just about any magnetic base light without drilling or fabricating your roof. We offer two models, the GMP-F150-2015 is designed for trucks with incandescent 3rd brake lights and the GMP-F150-2015-LED is designed for trucks with LED 3rd brake lights. Incandescent mounting plates and LED mounting plates are NOT interchangeable.

The main plate works ok but the steel plate for magnetic attachments is to small. The entire top portion of the main plate needs to be steel so mini-light bars with 4 magnets can be used. As it is now, only the 360 round strobes can be attached by magnet without adding additional steel plate.

Great alternative

I bought this mount because the new Ford trucks are not steel anymore. My magnetic light bar was useless on this truck until I found this amount. It’s made rugged and mounts up nicely. I had to drill and bolt my light bar to it because the steel surface they mount to the aluminum frame is only about 6 inches round and I have a 22 inch light bar with 4 magnetics so that didn’t work out but drilling and bolting did. And it looks great. My only issue is the toggle bolts they use to mount it to the truck. They pull hard and it you over tighten them they can bend the aluminum in the opening. And they could have made a hole to pass the wire from the light through into the cab. I was able to make it all work and love how it turned out.

Strong durable mounting plate that is easy to install. My on gripe is the steel plate for magnetic mini lightbars is small. The picture shows it running full width however its only about 8inches wide.

Pretty good little plate for those who want to avoid putting holes in their roofs. Install was quick and painless and pretty self-explanatory. Have not had any issues with water leakage through the high brake light gasket. Guage of metal is sufficient to not allow it to “bounce” or flex with the wind drag at highway speed (80ish mph). Overall I’m happy with the purchase since it allows me to have an overhead light without permenantly marring my truck.

I run a line crew working on power lines. Sometimes when storms blow through we may end up working at night. My company has been using Ford trucks as a work truck for a while now. When ford went to the all aluminum body in 2015 you couldn’t just stick your golight to the roof anymore. This product is built well and it does what I need it to. It is also much cheaper than some of the other products like it out there. The only thing I have found that I do not like about this is that, the middle is the only place with steel that a magnetic light can mount. Other than that, it’s great.

The original unit purchased in April of 2017 was too flimsy and was bent up 90 degrees by a semi passing on the highway. Returned within the warranty period and have not received a replacement unit. Subsequent units purchased are made of a thicker material and have worked fine.
